Board Roles and Responsibilities

Tuesday, July 14th, 12pm-1pm

New and even seasoned nonprofit board members may not understand their basic obligations. In this session, explore the legal duties, roles and responsibilities of volunteer board members in governing charitable and other nonprofit organizations with CNS’s Program Director, Jess Hampton.

Building Business Partnerships

Thursday, July 16th, 12pm-1pm

In this session, attendees will learn how to build partnerships with businesses in your community and secure sponsorships. CNS’s Executive Director, Jenn Clemo, will discuss the key motivators for sponsors to invest in your nonprofit, how to identify prospective sponsors, building your sponsorship proposal package, and how to effectively measure and communicate value.

Board Recruitment and Retention

Tuesday, July 21st, 12pm-1pm

CNS’s Program Director, Jess Hampton, has prepared tools for boards who are concerned about recruitment and retention. In this session, she will present ways to recruit new members and keep current board members engaged.

Grant Prospecting

Thursday, July 23rd, 12pm-1pm

Finding grant funding that is a good fit for your organization can be overwhelming. In this session, CNS’s Executive Director, Jenn Clemo, will highlight resources for identifying grant opportunities, how to qualify prospects for the best fit, and how to conduct outreach with funders. Participants will also receive tools for tracking grant information and creating an application timeline.

Jenn Clemo
Executive Director, CNS

Jenn Clemo is a nonprofit professional with expertise in resource development, program design and evaluation, outreach and engagement, and strategic initiatives.

She is an experienced nonprofit consultant, trainer, and adviser. Jenn is passionate about helping nonprofits recognize their full potential and providing mission-driven services that enhance their capacity to make the communities we live in healthy and vibrant.

Jess Hampton
Program Director, CNS

Jess Hampton is a community and organizational development professional with an academic background in nonprofit management. She is a seasoned facilitator and trainer with a demonstrated capacity to foster the growth of nonprofits through tailored programming, experiential training, and organizational planning.

Jess is passionate about leveraging the power of bringing people together to create possibilities, solve problems, and make decisions.
